A tribute to space exploration: Seiko Prospex Speedtimer "Pogue"
Seiko, marchio rinomato per la sua precisione e affidabilità, presenta un nuovo modello della sua celebre collezione Prospex Speedtimer: il SSC947P1, affettuosamente soprannominato "Pogue".
Seiko, renowned for its precision and reliability, introduces a new model to its famous Prospex Speedtimer collection: the SSC947P1, affectionately known as "Pogue".
This solar chronograph is a tribute to astronaut William Pogue, who chose to take a Seiko with him on the historic Skylab 4 mission, the longest space mission ever (84 days and 1,214 revolutions around the Earth).
A design inspired by adventure
The design of the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer "Pogue" is a tribute to the 1964 original, with some modifications to make it more modern and comfortable. The 41.40 mm stainless steel case features clean lines and a sporty profile, while sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches.
The dial, with its luminescent indexes and hands, ensures perfect readability in all lighting conditions. The unidirectional rotating bezel, essential for measuring dive times, completes the adventurous look of this watch.
Powered by Caliber V192, a solar-powered quartz movement, the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer "Pogue" offers exceptional precision and requires no battery changes. Solar technology allows the watch to run continuously, even in low-light conditions.
A connection with histor
The name "Pogue" is a tribute to astronaut William Pogue, who chose to wear his Seiko during the Skylab 4 mission. This decision, made despite the watch not being certified for spaceflight, testifies to the astronaut's confidence in the precision and reliability of his timepiece.
