Citizen Eco-Drive One: the thinnest watch in the world
Citizen is proud to announce the launch of the thinnest watch in the world, just 2.98 mm thick: "Eco-Drive One". The project was created to commemorate the 40 years of history of Citizen Eco-Drive® technology, based on energy deriving from light (natural or artificial). The "Eco-Drive One" model, with a movement just 1.00 mm thick, is housed in a case made of dark gray Duratect DLC steel enhanced by a silver-colored cermet bezel. Anyone who wears Eco-drive One will have the feeling of becoming one with their watch. Eco-Drive One: Elegance. In its purest form.
Eco Drive One is the super thin watch created by technological research aimed at creating a sophisticated aesthetic, a true exaltation of the concept of "beauty". The aesthetics of Eco-drive one derives from the elimination of excessive or superfluous elements to reach the very essence of the watch. Eco Drive One represents the balance between the concept of thin beyond imagination and the concept of resistance, that is, a force against bumps and scratches, thus representing the challenge between aesthetics and resistance.
The construction of a watch with an incredible thickness of only 2.98 mm. and at the same time resistant led Citizen to use a treatment for the case called Duratect DLC (surface hardening technology - Citizen patent) and a second material called Cermet (composite of ceramic materials and metals) for the bezel. Both materials offer elegance and at the same time resistance.
Finally, creating a watch just 2.98 mm thick implied a review of the movement both in construction terms with a miniaturization of the parts. Citizen has, in fact, managed to assemble the 85 components of the movement in just 1.00 mm of thickness. , and in the further efficiency of energy use, ensuring almost 12 months of charging. The Ecodrive® movement housed in Eco-Drive One represents the thinnest movement in the world, just 1.00 mm thick. that only a manufacturer like Citizen could have created.
