The Oris Aquis men's watch is inspired by the Monkey King, or Sun Wukong in Mandarin Chinese, representing a legendary figure from the classic 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West. The story tells of how Sun Wukong, a stone-born monkey, gains supernatural powers before rebelling against heavenly power.

In the story, the Monkey King comes into possession of a red pillar with golden tips that he shrinks into a stick with which to fight enemies and their iniquitous behavior, creating the "earthquake" described in the title. Today, the Monkey King is an icon of Chinese culture recognized around the world.

The watch comes with a 41.5 mm steel case and a unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with ocean blue ceramic inserts. This model is water resistant to 30 atmospheres (300 meters). Inside, a self-winding mechanical movement powers the entire watch, including the large central "spinning" seconds hand. To complete this watch we find the head of Sun Wukong and his group engraved on the caseback.
