Bulova Lunar Pilot: a precise and alternative "moonwatch"
Today we are talking about the Bulova Lunar Pilot 96B251 watch inspired by the same chronograph used by the astronauts in the 1971 lunar mission (Apollo 15).
Over the years Bulova has carried out general modernization operations using a quartz technology capable of offering maximum precision. The watch comes with a 45 mm steel case (14 mm thickness) and a double leather and nylon strap. The Lunar Pilot dial is in scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The watch is powered by a quartz mechanism which has as its main feature a frequency of vibrations that is eight times higher than a standard quartz. Thanks to the brightness of its hands you can view the hours in any light condition. Another peculiarity of this model is its impermeability: the wearer can dive up to 50 meters deep without any kind of problem.
The black clock dial, in addition to having a division into notches, houses the stopwatch function (activated by the upper side button) and the date window with 31-day calendar.
Another small detail that will not have escaped fans is the wording "Tachymeter" on the dial, located between 12 and one o'clock. In fact, in the original version of the watch the wording was "Tachometer"; a change due only to modernization issues as mentioned above.
The Bulova Lunar Pilot 96B251 watch represents a model with an attractive look and strong traditions with a "modern" and avant-garde operation.
