Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Globetrotter Edition
Presented in 2012, the Classics Worldtimer Manufacture imposed itself in record-breaking time as one of Frederique Constant most sold timepieces, widely acclaimed by the watchmaking community. A success which shows no sign of abating, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2022. To mark the event and support Black November, the Brand presents the eye-catching full black Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Globetrotter Edition limited to 300 pieces, equipped with a PDV titanium coated case and a black dial. For the first time, the names of the 24 reference cities featured on the city disc have been replaced by the 24 reference cities’ airport codes.
All dressed up in black
To combine this anniversary and support Black November, Frederique Constant opted for a striking full black design. With a 42 mm diameter sandblasted PVD titanium coated case, the Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Globetrotter Edition features a black dial representing the planisphere in relief, the oceans being enlightened by a sunray finishing. At 6 o’clock, an elegant sunray guilloché subdial displays the date thanks to a hand-polished black hand, also matching the hour, minute and seconds hands.
The only elements featured in white are the airport codes on the city disc, the day indication of the 24H disk, and the applied indexes. The latter, as well as the hour and minute hands, are filled with luminous treatment to ensure perfect readability, even at night. The watch is worn on a black alligator strap with a folding buckle, decorated with the emblematic seal of the Frederique Constant Manufacture, an eternal passport for escape.
The world within reach
A perfect watch to travel the world easily, all the features (hours, minutes, date, Worldtimer) of the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture can be adjusted using the crown, thanks to an ingenious three-notch system. The first winds the watch. The second adjusts the date (upwards) and the reference city (downwards). The third adjusts the time in the central display.
Simple and intuitive, the Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Globetrotter Edition allows the wearer to cross time zones concentrating only on discovery of the world, without having to worry about the time read: local time (with the central hands) and home time (via the mobile flange) are automatically synchronised with each other. No need either to have to make an effort to differentiate the day-time zones from the night-time zones: the two disc colours surrounding the globe (dark for the night, white for the day) naturally indicate them, by the two consecutive 12-hour segments opposite the reference cities in question.
As for all Frederique Constant Manufacture collection timepieces, the FC-718 movement in the new Classic Worldtimer Manufacture has been decorated with fine perlage decoration visible through a sapphire crystal caseback that is guaranteed water-resistant to 5 ATM. The informed observer will admire the blued screws in the movement and the rose gold-plated hollowed-out oscillating weight adorned with vertical satin-finishing and "Frederique Constant Manufacture" engraving.
