Forged carbon is a type of carbon fiber with high strength and lightness properties. The name “forged” derives from its manufacturing process: small fragments of carbon fiber are placed in molds at the same time as some resins, to be then compressed and “forged” at high temperatures. The effect of veins that is created is an element of uniqueness due to this process: the carbon flakes, in fact, are positioned randomly, creating unique and unrepeatable patterns for each portion of the product.

Starting from a single block of forged carbon, cubes are obtained from which every single case will be born. Through a processing with high-precision machinery (CNC), each individual case is machined from solid, removing material until its final shape is obtained.

In the T-183 waterproofing is guaranteed by a cylindrical container in 316L steel inside the case. The sapphire crystal and the screw-down caseback will therefore be fixed on the steel part and not on the carbon case which, otherwise, could not guarantee water resistance up to 60 atmospheres. The combination of steel with forged carbon is the crucial element for a light but highly resistant product up to high pressures.

The rubberized leather strap is another important feature of the T-183. The leather of the strap is in fact coated with rubber to ensure greater resistance to water. Furthermore, the side part is sheared, waxed and hand painted with colors matched to the details of the hands and dial, for a modern look and a high level of comfort.
